RailRoad Theft foiled 08/13/2007

On Monday Night August 13th Deputy David Berrios arrested three individuals on charges of Grand Larceny. The arrests came after Berrios noticed suspicious activity near the railroad tracks. Charged were Wesley Spencer age 45, Danny Joe Spencer age 42 and Glenda Spencer age 45 all of Booneville. All the property was recovered. Investigators with the Kansas City Central Railroad will be assisting in the case.

"This was a good job on the Officers part. He was observant and noticed the suspicious activity which turned out to be a theft in progress." "In the last year we have noticed an increase in theft of metal including scrap, copper and aluminum and other metals that have drastically increased in prices. This increase in these types of types have been reported in all the surrounding areas. If Anyone sees suspicious activity or knows of anyone stealing wire or other metals, contact the Sheriff's Office at 662-728-6232."
