Tuesday night Sept. 4th around 11pm Prentiss County deputies arrested Michael Smith age 36 of Rienzi and Nathan Williams 38 of Rienzi and charged them with Possession of Controlled substance. The duo was later charged with grand larceny. At the time of their arrest the truck they were traveling in was pulling a horse trailer containing other contents. They trailer and contents and other items in the back of the truck had just been stolen just off Cr 1101 a short distance from where they were stopped. All the stolen property and other physical evidence was recovered. This was some outstanding work on the part of the Patrol Deputies and Investigators during the follow up investigation.

Grand Larceny 08/31/2007
On Friday August 31 2007, The Prentiss County Sheriff's Office arrested Terry Holley age 32 0f Corinth and charged him with two counts of grand larceny. The charges stem from the theft of an International tractor from a work site and a 40 foot trailer from Jumpertown. These items were recovered at a residence and shop around the first of August in Prentiss County. Others items were recovered and additional charges will be presented to the next grand jury. As many as six to eight other crimes were solved as a result of this arrest. "This was good detective work on the part of Sammy Henderson who is the lead investigator in these cases. He has worked diligently with Tippah and Union Counties and solved crimes in both counties, recovering a Mack Truck and Four Wheeler. Bond has been set at $5,000. He remains in Jail." Additional charges and arrests are pending of other suspects.
