Dog Fighting Operation BUSTED

After an extensive investigation into an alleged Dog Fighting Operation, the Prentiss County Sheriff's Department executed a search warrant Saturday night April 12, 2008. The operation was being conducted at the residence of Jamie Trimble, located at 49 cr 3161 Booneville, MS. Deputies arrested and charged a total of 19 individuals with charges ranging from being a spectator at a dog fight to organizing a dog fight, which both are felonies. Several of the individuals arrested were currently on probation or parole from the MS Dept of Corrections. Deputies were able to execute the search warrant during an actual fight. There were 4 pit bulldogs seized along with $10,000 cash, a four wheeler, several vehicles, a firearm, and other dog fighting related equipment. The fighting pit for the operation was a well built 20 x 20 ft portable device that could be moved to other locations. The fight being held was well organized and brought people from surrounding counties in to watch. Bond for Jamie Trimble was set at $10,000. The others arrested each have a $5,000 bond. The investigation is ongoing and more arrest are pending. The Mississippi Bureau of Narcotics along with the Booneville Police Narcotic Investigator assisted during the search.
